Today Debbie said that Christopher pushed his
wheelchair from his room all the way down the hall and past the gym entrance,
this is a distance of close to 150 feet. His legs are getting some much
stronger. We just need to get the upper body going more. We are still fighting
the contractures he continues to be so stiff. Laying in the bed his legs are
moving constantly, he slides himself all over the bed.
Anthony came in again tonight, I was glad Debbie
was still here to meet him.
Restful evening we watched Pawn Stars most of the
night until he fell asleep. I usually wait until he goes to sleep the put his
splints on, it is much easier at night, his muscles seem to relax more. He is so
peaceful, it is hard to leave him. We miss him so much.
It brought tears to my eyes to read the end of this post about how much you all miss Christopher and how peaceful he is when he sleeps. Your strength is admirable. Keeping my fingers crossed for the Baclofen, it is good to know that the trial dose worked well and that Christopher can move to the next step.
ReplyDeleteDebbie is the only Heitzman I know in person but the whole family is in my thoughts constantly and I hope I can be one of the visitors one day soon. Lots of love. Alicia
Although our family has not met yours, we are friends of friends and pray daily for Christopher's recovery and for each of you to be lifted up by the support of friends everywhere. I have a 10 month experience with ICU care for my father following surgery. It is often a long lonely road, be assured that your posts are probably as helpful for you to praise and vent at times. Christopher has been added to the prayer concerns at Roswell Presbyterian Church. We pray for complete healing and recovery! God bless you all.
