Thursday Sept. 27th

Christopher had a good day in the gym; he was actually able to operate the hand pedals with his right arm, which also led to him reaching for objects placed in front of him. This is the first time he has attempted to do this. The team worked with him sitting up again this morning and he was sitting proud and tall, when he had a surprise guest come in to visit.

Brian Jordan retired outfielder for the Atlanta Braves and St Louis Cardinals. Brian became aware of Christopher’s story, through friends of Susan Fiveash, who helped arrange the visit. Brian has been following Christopher’s progress through the blog and wanted to come in to meet him. What an awesome surprise, Christopher could not take his eyes off him or the autographed photo Brian presented to him. Brian came back with Christopher to his room and kindly signed the Turner Field mural on Christopher’s wall. When we first moved to Atlanta we used to sit and watch the Braves almost every night, Christopher loves baseball and loved watching Brian running in the outfield. Brian, Susan thank you both for a special memory, one we will not forget.

  1. How exciting! I love to read about the progress Chris is making every day. He has come so far! He looks so tall and handsome in this picture - thanks for including it. And what an amazing surprise for Chris - I am sure he is delighted; I can see him keeping his eyes on that autographed picture! :) God bless you all and I am sending continuous prayers and love to all of the Heitzman family.
