Today has been another busy day for the Heitzman family. Davis got his final
release regarding his broken arm. Thank you Dr Payne and Dr Seiler and the great
team at Georgia Hand, Shoulder & Elbow, they have taken great care of Davis
and rendered much support for Christopher and the family during these past
couple months.
Christopher spent most of his PT time today on the large table
mats with Stephanie stretcthing his shoulders and neck, focusing on keeping his
head up and in the midline, which he was able to do with some encouragement. He
was also able to participate in pet therapy again. Rommel a beautiful 7 year old
Rottweiler was visiting. The team brought Rommel up on the mat where he laid
down beside Christopher and laid his head on his lap, an amazing site. This
130lb Rottweiler just as gentle as can be, it brings tears to your eyes seeing
the interaction between the two of them. It is such a wonderful part of his
therapy.
Well after about and hour and a half of therapy he was wiped, so we went back to the room for a little rest.
It has been a good afternoon, we have been watching the Discovery Channel's, Dirty Jobs and American Guns. Some of his favorites. So between a few cat naps this afternoon he has welcomed several visitors, thanks everyone, it was great to see you.
Debbie and I met with Dr Dennison and Christopher has made some improvements, bumping up a couple points in the recovery scale. His target date to go home is still the 19th of Sept. we are praying for continued improvements so he can continue here in the rehab phase at the Shepherd Center.
We have been pleased with his progress so far and continue to pray for his successful recovery.
We are praying that he will be able to continue good work there!
