A restful day, Christopher had speech therapy this
morning, but no other scheduled sessions. Debbie had him up this morning and
took him out to the garden. We spend a lot of time there, it is relaxing for all
of us. Christopher is still making progress, it is such small steps some days
that we hardly notice it. Many times it is staff who have been away or visitors
who haven't seen him for a while that will notice the difference.
We continue to pray for the day when he emerges
from this. We hear so many stories of how this has happened to others. I had a
wonderful visit the other night with one of the staff Anthony. Christopher and I
were watching the Braves or something on the TV when I heard someone say
"Wareagle" as he was knocking on the door. Anthony comes in to introduce
himself, he thought he remembered Christopher from when he was in the ICU
several weeks back and wanted to check on him. Anthony is a Fire Captain during
the day, full time job, but also works at Shepherd Center, and as a medic on the
lifeflight helicopters, the very ones that flew Christopher to Grady on the day
of the accident. Anthony knows very well the affects of a brain injury, his 22
year old son has suffered from an acquired brain injury as a marine wounded in
service to his country. It was a pleasure meeting and talking with Anthony and
we look forward to seeing him again.
Sammie Jordan and Keegan Corley came by to visit,
Keegan brought in a sign baseball from the team at Georgia College to give to
Christopher. It was good to see them and know that the team has Christopher in
their thoughts.
