Tuesday Jan. 1st thur Monday Jan. 7th

My apologizes for the delay in posting an update.
Today is the first day of the New Year and I want to start it off by thanking each one of you for the continued prayers, thoughts and support over these past months. Without you, I am sure my family would not be in the same shape or spirit we are today.
My faith is strong and I owe that to the love you have showered upon us. The Lord has wrapped us in the warm embrace of your arms, protecting us from the despair that would surely overcome anyone trying to cope on their own. We are truly blessed.
I will be starting out the New Year with a weekly blog update, with periodic updates to convey any special items as they come about. Christopher’s progress is slow and I sometimes feel like there isn’t much to say. I don’t want to bore you with the same old things day after day.
New Years Day we had collard greens, black-eyed peas, smoked ham, creamed corn and cornbread. What a way to start the New Year. We were all in the kitchen cooking. I know Christopher wishes he could have eaten with us. He loves the country cooking. The aromas had to be driving him crazy.
Allie picked up Noah and Zack and headed home on Wednesday, Davis flew down to Orlando with Cooper on Thursday morning to join up with them there. So, Debbie and I were without Davis for a few days while he visited with his aunt Crystal.
We had a new care assistant who started on Wednesday, she is a retired nurse who lives very close by, she worked very well with Christopher. Shelly and Kim also resumed their PT/OT sessions with Christopher this week. They had him up in the standing frame and rolling around on the mat, working hard. They do a great job.
Christopher’s friends continued to visit, most of them will be back to school soon. We are so thankful for them taking the time to come by and see Christopher. He enjoys the company and the buzz of noise around him.
We had a quite weekend with Davis being away. We went to the movies again on Sunday, Christopher and I saw Lincoln and Debbie saw the Quilt Trip. It was a fun day.

  1. Happy New Year to you!
You're all constantly on our minds and in our prayers. We are amazed at the grace you've shown and the spirit with which Christopher fights. We hope that this new year brings lots of wonderful surprises and continued progress!
