Our Journey To Recovery

Thursday March 14th

Today we went to see the dentist. It is the first time since before the accident Christopher will have been. We weren't sure what they would find. He really did well with them looking around, but we will have to come back after he sees his primary care physician. He has to get medical clearance for them to be able to sedate him to do a thorough exam and cleaning.

We know he has a couple of teeth that were chipped during the accident that may need some attention. They will also evaluate the two fracture site to his mandible (the lower jaw bone). We are now noticing some misalignment of his jaw as he chews.

The dental team was awesome. They were recommended to us because they specialize in treating patients with disabilities. The DDD Foundation, Inc. (Dentistry for the Developmentally Disabled) is a non-profit organization founded in 1999, the Foundation supports a dental clinic that solely treats patients with special needs. It is the only clinic of its kind in metro Atlanta.

Once again how lucky we are to have such great care available to us. Thank you Lord.
