August 14 Tuesday
Finally today the PEG tube was placed( tube inserted in his stomach that will allow infusion of liquid nutrients since Christopher currently can't take ingest food orally) He continues to recover from the effect of all the sedation medications he was on for so long.
He is scheduled for a chest xray tomorrow to rule out the possibility he has aspirated fluids into his lungs again.
Because he was under a medically induced coma for several weeks his muscles did not get enough exercise. He left foot was placed in a cast today to correct foot drop from being in the bed for the past five weeks. This will correct the problem and will be augmented with physical therapy. They will end up putting a cast on his right foot in the next few days as a precaution as well. Please continue to keep Christopher in your prayers. Thank you.

Continuous prayers, from day one, for all of you! May God continue to grace Chris with spectacular healing! The Strader family.
ReplyDeleteWe continue to pray for Christopher and for your entire family every single day. I cannot tell you how constantly Christopher is on my mind and in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteIt may not seem like it, but looking from the outside in, Christopher has made amazing strides in relatively short amount of time! We are so glad he is at Shepard, it's a wonderful place. We have no doubt that he will only continue to get stronger every minute! And once again, thanks for taking the time to inform all of us who care for precious Chris and know we are praying so much for the full recovery we know he will have. The Sharitz Family
