Our Journey To Recovery

Sun. Sept 9th

What a great morning, today Christopher and I went down to the garden to sit in the fresh, what felt like fall, air. Beautiful day, we spent some time working and stretching his arms, this really has to be a continual process, working every day. It is amazing how quickly he tightens up. I know this has to be painful.

We’ve gotten a Fathead poster of Turner Field to put up in Christopher’s room. What a great photo, it is huge. We have some Auburn stuff coming on Monday. The Rose’s brought in as photo of the Lassiter baseball team today and put it on the wall. He is getting quite a collection. We are hoping this will help in some way to stimulate him, we have seen such a change in his focus over the past few days. He is much more engaged with his eyes tracking, much more alert, seeing people and objects around him. He seems so close, we can only hope and pray that we are close and we are just on the brink of him emerging.

  2. Although I do not personally know Chris or your family, I continue to pray for you all regularly. I firmly believe that Jesus is still in the 'healing business'. It is a miracle by itself that Chris survived such an accident, but I simply cannot believe that God is finished with this miracle. I am stepping out on a limb here, but would anyone be interested in gathering together for a time of prayer for both a complete recovery for Chris and for comfort and strength for family and friends that are hurting during this waiting period? If not, I will continue to pray as I have been, but the Word does say this:
Matthew 18:19-20 "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
If there is already a prayer group for the Heitzman family, please let me know the details. If not, I could open my home as a place to gather and pray. It could just be for 30 minutes - enough time to encourage one another and touch the Lord with prayer that is in one accord.
Email me if this is something you would like to help me get started.
