Debbie had the day off today, she needed the rest.
Of course she was a home organizing Davis' closet and looks like all of the
baseball and football cleats from the past 18 years, there must been twenty pair
neatly arranged by size and color on the garage floor. I stay home until late
yesterday afternoon, she gave me some time to watch the Auburn game. Almost
would have rather been at the hospital, I thought they were going to put me in
one, the way they played.
Christopher has had a good day. He and I went out
into the garden early this morning, it was a very nice day, a little bit of sun
mixed with a little breeze to keep it from being to hot. After that I took him
into the game room and we rolled the cue ball around on the pool table. He was
able to track the ball very well as it went from side to side. To get him out of
the wheelchair we went into the gym where we got onto the mat and we worked on
stretching his lower body, focusing on his lower back, hamstrings, calves and
his ankle flexion. We also worked his upper body, shoulders and upper arms. I
don't think he enjoyed me hugging on him as much as he does Stephanie his usual
physical therapist, she is much nicer to look at than dad. But he did well,
considering my feminine shortcomings.
We eventually made it back to the room, where we
entertained a steady stream of visitors for the next few hours. It was great, we
got some additional decorations for the room. Katherine Segell and Hanna Singer
brought in pictures of Christopher with many of his friends. Not much space left
on the walls right now. It looks great. Thanks to Frank and Karen, Mike, Marley
and her mother, Susan for coming by It was great to see you all, Katherine,
Hanna and Mike it was a pleasure to meet you. We look forward to seeing you all
again. I am sure Christopher loved seeing you and hearing your voices.
Praying that Christopher continues to emerge! It sounds like he continues to make progress. Glad, also, that Auburn managed to pull out a win Saturday! War Eagle!
