Monday Dec. 10th

Back on track today, Christopher much brighter and alert. He participated well in the therapy sessions. Debbie was able to do some shopping today and bought Christopher some high-top shoes, hopefully they will help keep him from rolling his ankles while he is in the standing frame.

I know with the injury to his right knee he has to be experiencing some pain when he is standing and walking. Unfortunately he is still unable to tell us if anything is hurting, we are relying on facial expression and the changes in his color. So we have to be very careful how far we try to push him in any activities. The motorized hand bike has been very good so far. We have set it up on the kitchen table. It is high enough to push his wheelchair up to it and be close enough to allow him full arm extension as he pushes the pedals. With the tone in his arms and hands the one thing he does very well is grip whatever you put in his hands.

There is still some weakness with his overall arm strength, a lot of that has to do with him having to re-teach his brain how to manage the muscle. We are still working towards him being able to throw out the first pitch next year to start the Lassiter High School baseball season.

Please keep him in your prayers as he continues to recover.
