Our Journey To Recovery

Saturday Dec. 22nd

As we continue to prepare for the Christmas holiday, Debbie and I are on our way out to finish up some shopping. Davis is being a tremendous help with Christopher. I know it is hard for him at times, he has looked up to his brother for so long and seeing him unable to care for himself is taking a toll. He doesn't say much, he keeps to himself and with friends a lot of the time.

We have tried to keep his life as normal as possible. But it isn't normal, normal would be them both running through the house fussing at each other about who touched what or who had been in each others room and touched there stuff. That is normal.

Davis has been quick to ask if he could help care for Christopher, he is interested in helping with his tube feeding. So far we have not allowed him to do that. We have been letting him feed him ice, fruit puree and jello. Not sure who is eating the most, him or Christopher. He has also been helping to prepare his meds and with dressing him and getting him in and out of the bed. We are lucky to have him here to help.
