Our Journey To Recovery

Saturday Dec. 8th

Today has been pretty reserved. Christopher has been a little under the weather. It appears he may have a slight cold, he has had a runny nose and sneezing quite a bit.

We let him sleep a little longer this morning before getting him up and moving. Wearing the splints at night doesn’t really allow for a restful night. We are seeing some benefit from the splints we just have to be vigilant in putting them on each night and during the day as much as possible.

It has been exciting to see him eat the different foods. We are limiting him to mostly clear liquids at the moment. We don’t want to shock his system to much so we will take it slow, staying with the clear chicken broth and Jello.

Davis and Nathan Anthes are sitting with Christopher downstairs playing on the PlayStation. As Christopher continues to eat, he will most definitely continue to gain weight. This will inevitably make it much more difficult for Debbie and I to take him up and down the stairs. Therefore, we have Davis on an extensive weight-training program to beef him up. He has been helping with the heavy lifting and has been a great help.

We are taking it one day at a time adapting to the situation and making it work. We want to continue to thank you all for your support and prayers.
