Tuesday Feb. 12th thru Sunday Feb. 17th

We continue to see progress with Christopher and his interactions with us. He is getting far more responsive to following simple commands. He will sit and play ball for hours without tiring. He is getting closer every day to being able to throw out that first pitch. He is getting the ball up in a throwing position but has not been able to propel it forward to release it with any force yet. It is just amazing we are seeing him accomplish this at all.

We went back to Dr Ellis this past Wednesday. Christopher was greeted by another doctor, a young dark haired beauty, Dr. Vida Khalili. Dr. Ellis was teasing Christopher about bring in Dr. Khalili just for him. During the visit they were working on getting Christopher to fire the correct muscles in response to moving his left arm by watching the movement of his right arm in a mirror. Everything seems to be firing correctly, we have to get him to relearn the correct sequence to fire the muscles properly.

Thanks to all the moms who have come to sit with Christopher over the past week. He really enjoys the company, the different voices and familiar faces. You have been wonderful.

Thursday Christopher had another follow-up appointment at the Shepherd Center, one to re-fill his pump and assess if it needed to be titrated up or down. We decided to increase it once again to help with the stiffness in his extremities. During the visit he was weighed, he has gained an additional 13 lbs, which puts him at 155 lbs.

We returned home to a delicious Valentines Day dinner prepared by Amy Taylor, thank you, it was wonderful. Emily Lehmann brought Christopher Valentines Day cards the Lassiter Art Honor Society made for him. They were wonderful; we read each of them to him and fed him chocolate.

We had a few of Davis’ friends spend the night Friday, they didn’t have school Friday or Monday so they were cooking up something all weekend. Debbie and I took Christopher to the movies Sunday. It was so cold out, couldn’t believe it. We had a very relaxing weekend.
