Tuesday Feb. 5th thru Monday Feb. 11th

We continue to see great thing happening with Christopher. He continues to gain weight and is filling out quite nicely. There have been a number of additional volunteer moms added to the list of moms sitting with Christopher. He is such a lucky boy to be loved by so many people. We certainly can not thank ya’ll enough for your support and continued assistance.

Christopher has had several doctors’ appointments over the past week. One was with plastic surgeon Arthur Simon, he will close Christopher’s trach site on March 1st at Piedmont Hospital. Christopher has also had a couple of visits to Dr. Marc Ellis who specializes in neurology and chiropractics.

We were introduced to Dr. Ellis by Leo Hilton who has been working with Christopher over the past several weeks. Christopher’s visits with Dr Ellis have been very encouraging. They have been able to track and study his eye gaze, similar to what was done at the Shepherd Center. He has made great progress in his consistency in tracking and focusing on objects. Dr. Ellis is confident Christopher’s cognitive ability is intact. He is extremely excited by the progress Christopher has already achieved is such a short timeframe since the accident.

Christopher has become much more responsive to verbal communication and the hearing of his name. The smiles just keep coming, in response to funny sounds or visuals. He loves America’s Funniest Videos.

This past Saturday Christopher and I were able to catch part of the Lassiter Baseball Inning-A-Thon. It was a beautiful sunny day, still a little cool but very nice. The boys looked good, congratulations to all those who made the team, we wish you the best. We hope to be able to attend the games during the upcoming season.

I wanted to share a video Coleman made for one of his school assignments. Some of you may have seen it already. I hope you enjoy.

  1. I'm so happy to hear of Christopher's continued progress and the encouraging opinions of the neurologist. He is an amazing young man...clearly his body is healing one step at a time. I pray for that day when you walk into the room and he says "Hi Mom!" or "Hi Dad!"... I believe that day will come.
Coleman's video is very touching! (Brought tears!) What an awesome friend he is! Your family is surrounded by a wonderful network of friends and acquaintances that continue to help you and lift you up. You are very blessed - even in these trials....a testimony to how you live your lives. Keep fighting Christopher!!

  2. That was Beautiful!

I BELIEVE that "God can do anything, you know - far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us." Ephesians 3:20/The Message BELIEVING with all of you that God is able to more than we hope or imagine in and through Christopher.
    Blessings!
