Our Journey To Recovery

Tuesday Jan.29th thru Monday Feb. 4th

We have had a very good week; Christopher continues to eat solid foods and is enjoying the meals immensely. You can tell by the way he is scarffing them down. This past Tuesday night he and I went up to watch the baseball team tryouts. Luckily it was a very mild night. I guess it was the calm before the storm, because Wednesday we were hunkered down in the basement listening to the Tornado sirens blaring.

What a crazy day, we didn’t know which way to go. Mrs. Roush God bless her braved the storm warning and came to sit with Christopher. We all sat in the basement until the storm let up enough for me to run some errands, we can’t thank Diane enough. We were lucky the storm wasn’t as bad as it could have been.

Christopher has been working hard towards throwing out the first pitch for the baseball season. He is practicing catching and grabbing the ball, as you can see in the video.

As you watch here, he misses the first couple attempts to catch the ball, but notice his hand as it is moving to catch it as it comes off his chest, he is trying. You can't help but see the smile on his face.

Over the next couple of days we have worked on him catching and then actually handing the ball back to me. Presently he is reaching out with his right hand and placing the ball in my hand. Amazing!!!

He looks like our old Christopher in the video, thanks for sharing it. VA

  2. Thank you for this special treat for those of us glued to Christopher and the family through the blog. I loved his smile and not only the hand movement but his eyes were tracking the ball as well - that is so good to see. The smiling is priceless of course.

A big hug from California - Debbie: much love.
