Monday May 6th

We had a very wet weekend, as most of you all may know. Not much going on just trying to stay dry and keep Christopher occupied. He so loves to be outside and because of all the rain we haven't been able to spend much time outside.

Sunday night Debbie and Christopher were at home, I had run out to the store, before the downfall. Christopher was sitting in his wheelchair and decided to go to the front door. As Debbie watched he wheeled the chair up to the door, leaned forward reaching for the handle and preceded to open the door. As it opened it hit his feet and the front of the chair, so he pushed himself back just enough to get the door open and then pulled himself up into the doorway. He sat there looking out at the rain, waiting for me to come home. As I drove up in the driveway there he was sitting looking through the front glass waving at me, laughing. Debbie had closed and locked the door by then, it was dark, wet and windy.

Today we had visits from Frances Halvorson who came to sit with Christopher and Tyler Seamon and his roommate Conner. Christopher was so excited to see them. Thanks y'all for spending time with him.

This afternoon we were back to see Dr. Ellis. They are still working on Christopher's range of motion and standing. He continues to have difficulty putting weight on his right foot. We are scheduled to see the doctor at the Shepherd Center Wednesday morning for an evaluation on his foot and possible Botox injection in it to relieve the tone. He will also have his Baclofen pump refilled and dosage adjusted.

A HUGE hug on this Mother's Day. I am with you all along in thought and thank your husband for keeping the blog so all of us that love you in the distance can keep up to date with Christopher's progress. I cried a bit with happiness reading about Christopher going to the door to wait for Dad and manouvering a tough task of placing himself right where he wanted to be.
Hope to see you one of these days and to meet the rest of the family in person.
