We didn't get much sleep last night, Christopher did most of his sleeping yesterday evening so I quess he was ready to stay up all night. At about 10:30 I was ready to sleep, Christopher on the other hand was wide awake. He finally went to sleep around 2:30, after we cleaned him up.
He is still fighting the nausea and as long as that continues he won't be able to go home until he can keep his food down. He is so hungry it is pitiful watching him drool over the commercials when they come on the TV. Today he did eat some eggs, grits and toast. Unfortunately he got sick again this morning. The only positive about him being sick is afterwards he does feel better. He even eeked out a slight smile.
Alyssa from PT came and took Christopher outside and had him going up and down the halls in his wheelchair. He really had a pretty good day, no lunch because of the nausea. But once dinner came he was ready to eat. Mashed potatoes, tomato soup, bread and vanilla ice cream. He ate it all.
Eileen came in today, the plan was for her to sit with Christopher of the day while I went home to get some rest. That didn't happen the agency could not allow her to be in the hospital when he was under the hospitals care, she stayed on her own for a couple hours anyway to give me a break. We also had several visitors, Debbie Slough one of my friends from Piedmont came up to check on us, Sue and Terry Hampel and Connie Whittington all came by. Thank ya'll for coming to check in on us.
Debbie got here this evening and we were able get something to eat while Christopher slept, after he ate dinner it wasn't long before he was snoozing. So far so good, he has been able to keep dinner down, hopefully we will make it through the night. I think we both are going to go to sleep early tonight if possible.
Well we made it to about 3:00 this morning, he woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep. Finally about 4:30 I was able to lay back down, he was snoring by then, happy in dreamland. Not for long, we were up by 6:30 he was ready to get up. Breakfast arrived, eggs, grits, and toast. He ate it all, without any vom voms as Debbie would say.
Deb brought me a change of clothes before going to work this morning, Christopher and I both are ready for the shower. Looks like we will be able to go home today if we make it through lunch without any issues, fingers crossed. After our showers we took a walk downstairs, it was really nice outside a little overcast but a nice breeze. We didn't stay out long, lunch was waiting for him in the room, potato soup, mashed potatoes and chocolate pudding. Yummy, not.
Tuesday afternoon all is well, we have our marching orders so as soon as Debbie gets here we are headed home, yeah!!!! I am sure he is happy and I am positive I am happy.
Thanks again everyone for the thoughts and prayers.
Prayers you get Christopher home for the fourth. Love Anne brown HBS mom
