Our Journey To Recovery

Saturday July 6th

Saturday morning we all got up early and headed up towards Jasper, Ga. We are looking at some property just outside of Jasper to hunt on. The president of the hunting club, clad in his best hunting camo met us at the gate to give us a tour of the nearly 6000 acres site.

Debbie was thrilled to no end as Larry informed us it would take about three hours to see everything. I neglected to inform her of the this little fact. Well Christopher, Davis and I were ready to kick it into four wheel drive but I knew Debbie would have rather had been tied to the back bumper and dragged over the property than have to spend three hours in the middle of the woods listening to us rednecks talkin about huntin.

We passed a farmer's market on the way up and we had to get back there before it closed, so we didn't see three hours worth of the property but it looks like we will be going back pretty soon. It was a good thing we didn't stay, because the bottom fell out as soon as we got back in the car. The rain was back, again.

We returned home with a few goodies, boiled peanuts, fresh veggies and homemade cookies. Not to many cookies, Christopher ate most of them before we got out of the parking lot.

Saturday night we had the Tanglewood Meat Fest. Our neighborhood put on a fundraiser for Christopher and we had a great time rain or no rain. Great food, wonderful people and fireworks. What more could you ask for.

Obviously feeling better, here he is doing what he does best, EATING.

Saturday night fireworks in our cul de sac.

Our house all aglow in the background.
