It is so hard not to get discouraged, we want our son to be able to play ball, go out with his friends and be able to enjoy the rest of his life as he intended. How quickly life can change from what we envision it to be.
We continue to look at different options for therapies to aid Christopher and his recovery. Debbie has found through some research that the University of Pennsylvania has developed a specialized a surgical procedure for the correction of the lower extremity deformity caused by the muscle spasticity associated with traumatic brain injury.
We are in the process of getting Christopher evaluated for the surgery. His ability to walk has been hampered due to the fact he is reluctant to put weight on his right foot, and it continues to get worst in spite of the Botox treatments and splinting. We were hoping we wouldn’t have to subject him to further surgery, but we are out of options at this point.
Francis Halverson and Maureen Gucky came Wednesday to sit with Christopher. They didn't sit long before they had him heading down the road to Maureen's house, he is such a spoilt boy, he had all kinds of snacks and chocolate. They are so great, thank you ladies, he loved it.
Robert, our friend from Australia arrived this Thursday and will be with us through the holiday. He has been in Canada working for Debbie. He hasn't seen Christopher for a while and it is always good to get others perspective on how Christopher looks when it has been a while since they have seen him.
