Our Journey To Recovery

Monday August 19th - Sunday August 25th

Christopher had a great day with Cathy his first day at Lassiter. It was fitting to be in Coach Kelly's classroom. Dr. Ritchie the school principle and several other of the teachers and counselors came by to see him. Cathy said he had a very good day.

Gary was able to take Christopher from school where they were able to watch some of the girls softball and the boys football team practices. It really worked out great they were on the track when I arrived so Christopher and I continued to walk the track watching Davis at football practice until he finished at 6:30. It was a beautiful day.

Tuesdays Matt is still coming to sit and work with Christopher, they have been working puzzles, reading and going for walks. Matt has been wonderful working with Christopher.

We are so grateful for the care Christopher continues to receive from friends and neighbors, we are truly blessed.

Christopher was beginning to look a little shabby so we made an appointment with Zuman at S&G Salon for a haircut. Here is Christopher with his pig getting his haircut.

He kept everyone laughing with the pig. Gia and Kasha both could not believe how well Christopher looked.

He really has come a long ways. Debbie and I were looking at some of the photos from when he was still in the hospital. It is really scary, he was so thin.

Over the past several weeks at times it has been very difficult to  remember where we were just a short time ago. Seeing these photos brings it all back into focus. Christopher really has come a long way. The changes we hope to see and experience sometime just don't come quickly enough for us. We just have to remember it isn't about us, it is Christopher and his rate of recovery will be determined by the will of the Good Lord.
