May 2015

We have had a very eventful month. Christopher went back for his follow up visit with Dr. Carney the urologist who has been following Christopher since his accident. Christopher is now catheter free and able to go to the bathroom on his own. This is a huge milestone for him and his independence.

We waited until he was able to walk on his own before having his final bladder surgery so he would be able to get himself to the bathroom when  needed, so far so good. He has been amazing through this whole process.

May has also marked another milestone for Christopher with his 21st birthday thanks Cathy and Gary for the pre-birthday celebration and dinner, Christopher will never turn down a chance for food time with you and Hannah.
Gary tying up Christopher's new shoes, great gift, thank you
We had a little open house for Christopher's birthday. Thank you to all of you for coming by to wish him a Happy Birthday, he had a wonderful time running to the front door to see who was there.

It was a great evening, thanks for all the cookies and cup cakes. He had to try them all before going to bed. Sugar high!!!
On May 28th we able to present the first scholarship in honor of Christopher's strength and amazing spirit. The award went to Michael Templton, who just so happens to be going to Alabama. I didn't know this until Coach Kelly announced as he was presenting the seniors during the baseball banquet, which just so happened to be right before we were to present the award. I just looked at Debbie and said WAR EAGLE!
