Monday July 30

Well another day with good news. The orthopods came in today and said Christopher's pelvic fractures had stabilized enough that they did not feel he needed surgery to correct them, WOW. Of course Debbie had me calling Dr Seiler, an orthopedic surgeon I have worked with over the past 11 years, to make sure they were making a good decision. So after he spoke with Dr Allen McDonald the chief orthopedic surgeon handling Christopher, he confirmed we could forego the surgery, because he was stabilized enough to be mobilized.
Well that brought the physical therapy folks out of the woodwork. Before Debbie knew what was going on, they had Christopher sitting up on the side of the bed, feet on the floor, head bobbing around like a rag doll. To say the least, she was near apoplexy. Christopher did well tolerating both the PT and sitting up.
Today they removed the staples from his abdomen and continue to decrease his sedation, just now at a little slower pace than before. Good day.
Thanks again for all the prayers and continued support.
