Our Journey To Recovery

Tuesday Oct. 16th

Busy day today, Christopher was back in the zero gravity harness walking. Debbie so far has been with him each time he has been in these sessions. I haven’t seen him do this yet. He continues to be a star in the physical activities. We need prayers to see improvement in his cognitive and communication skills. Each of his therapy teams continue to prompt Christopher to communicate in some fashion, whether through eye blinks, nodding of his head or even thumbs up or down action. He still has very limited ability to do this. This would be a huge breakthrough, if he were able to accomplish this.

In hope of finding a solution to his inability to keep his feeding supplements down, the medical team has changed his nourishment regimen, feeding him six smaller boluses per day instead of the continuous feeding from 3pm -9pm. They are still trying to fine-tune this at the moment, with some difficulty. He is still very thin and needs to have this under control to be able to start gaining back his strength and building the muscle, he so desperately needs.

We continue to be thankful, we are making progress and are definitely in the right place to be able to make it happen.
