Our Journey To Recovery

Wednesday Nov. 28th

A good start to the morning, Debbie and I got Christopher into the shower on his new shower chair. This is a much more stable base to sit him. It rolls similar to the wheelchair, so once we get him upstairs we sit him on it and roll him straight into the shower in our bathroom, works great.

Debbie had already started to get ready for work, so once we were finished getting Christopher cleaned and dressed she was out the door, heading to the office.

It wasn’t more than just a few minutes before the power went out for the second time this week. It happened last Friday morning with all of the smoke alarms screaming. Well today was no different. So in the middle of trying to get Christopher fed and medicated, we had the cacophony of sound from the alarm system going off all around us. ADT seemed to be sure it wasn’t their system, of course. Seeing how their system is the only one we have installed, who else could be. The power finally came back on just long enough for me to be in the middle of the conversation (argument) with them, when it went off again. Click, dead phone! Oh what fun? After three tries, I gave in. Anyway, ADT will be here tomorrow to repair something!

Our early start this morning was because Christopher has a doctor’s appointment today. We will be seeing a new physician who was recommended by a family whose son has had an experience similar to Christopher. Debbie has been corresponding with his mother, she has been a great resource of information.

Dr. Williamson’s office is just off Hwy 92, so very convenient to our house. We got some great information from her, and will be looking into a couple of ideas she suggested for Christopher’s treatment. We finally got home around 4:30pm from a 1pm appointment. She was very thorough. Not a bad thing.
